北アイルランド議会再"起動"/Asembleo de NI rekomencis/Assembly of NI resumed

 前進するか統一への道？

日本でも大きく報じられているように、長らく混乱していた北アイルランド議会（愛：Tionól Thuaisceart Éireann；英：Northern Ireland Assembly*）が民主統一党（Democratic Unionist Party**，DUP）の議会復帰により約2年ぶりに再開されました。

【註】

*Assembly：スコットランド議会には"Parliament"が充てられますが、北アイルランドとウェールズでは"Assembly"と、いわば格下のことばが使われます。

**Unionist：この場合は北アイルランドとアイルランド共和国の統一ではなく、北アイルランドと英国（ロンドン政府）の統一を指します。

　そして、北アイルランド自治政府首相には、昨年の選挙で既に第一党の位置を占めていたシン・フェイン（Sinn Féin）のミシェル・オニール（Michelle O'Neill）が選出されました。

　シン・フェインは言うまでもなく、英国王室への忠誠を拒否し、アイルランド共和国との統一を目指す政党です。

　第一党として、そして首相を輩出した政党としてはその方向へ踏み出すチャンスですが、単独政府ではなく、DUPとの協調も欠かせず、た易いことではありません。

　議会再開に安堵するとともに、今後の成り行きに注目したいと思います。

Ĉu la vojo al Unuiĝo antaŭeniros ?

  Kiel vaste raportite en Japanio, la longe interrompita Asembleo de Norda Irlando（Tionól Thuaisceart Éireann） remalfermiĝis post preskaŭ du jaroj kun la reveno de la Demokrata Unionista Partio(DUP) al la Asembleo.

  Kaj Michelle O'Neill de Sinn Féin, kiu jam okupis la unuan prtian postenon en la pasintjara balolado, estis elektita kiel Unua Ministro de Aŭtonoma Registaro de Norda Irlando.

   Sinn Féin estas, kompreneble, politika partio kiu malakceptas filelecon al la Brita Krono kaj serĉas union kun la Respubliko de Irlando.

  Kiel la unua pozitiopartio kaj la partio kiu produktis Unuan Ministron, Sinn Féin havas ŝancon fari paŝojn en tiu direkto, sed ĝi ne estos facila tasko ĉar ĝi ne estos memstara registaro kaj kunlaboro kun la DUP devas esti esenca.

  Mi ĝojas, ke la Asembleo rekomencis laboron, kaj mi ŝatus atenti, kio okazos estonte.

Will the road to Unification

move forward ?

  As widely reported in Japan, the long-disrupted Northern Ireland Assembly（Tionól Thuaisceart Éireann） has reopened after almost two years with the return of the Democratic Unionist Party(DUP) to the Assembly.

 And Michelle O'Neill of Sinn Féin, which had already occupied the first party position in last year's election, was elected First Minister of Northern Ireland Autonomous Government.

  Sinn Féin, needless to say, is a political party that rejects allegiance to the British Crown and seeks union with the Republic of Ireland.

  As the first position party that produced First Minister, Sinn Féin has an opportunity to take steps in that direction, but it will not be an easy task as it will not be a standalone government and cooperation with the DUP must be essential.

  I am relieved that the Assembly has resumed work, and I should like to pay close attention to what will happen in the future.
